Lyman molds are made from solid steel and heat-cured to oxidize the metal. This blues the mould and minimizes the time required for the breaking-in process. A steel sprue cutter is included. Accepts Lyman double-cavity mold handles, sold separately.

 Bullet mold

Lyman 452664

I haven’t cast any of these yet, but have used commercially cast bullets from this mould, and they work really well in .45 Colt and .45 Auto Rim. I have cast bullets from the .44 caliber version, 429667, and have been very pleased. I cast these using 2 parts pure lead to 1 part Linotype for a BHN of 10-11 and get excellent results and no leading at around 900 fps. As a bonus both moulds use the same top punch.
