I have old Winchester rifles in 38-55 and 32-40 that have been sitting on the shelf for years! Thanks to star-line and Graf & sons I can now load and shoot them, again thank you so much

I use a lot of starline brass especially for the older calibers. This 38/55 - 2.125" is really good brass and shoots very well in my old Marlin. Graf's is usually the first place I check for a lot of different reloading related items. They usually carry the harder to find stuff and it is usually in stock.
38-55 Brass 2.125" oversized cast bullets

Reloading .380 diameter cast bullets for my winchester 94 Circa 1905. This brass easily handles the oversized cast bullets where modern winchester SAAMI length will not. The winchester brass is thicker resulting in excess bulge and won't chamber with oversized cast bullets.
Only thing to watch for is in the 94, if your OAL is too long they won't cycle from magazine. I found that in my rifle 2.510" is maximum length that will cycle however if single feed can go longer.

This brass was so hard to find. So glad Graf and Sons had it and at a reasonable price. Starline brass, I think, is some of the best made. I did wrinkle the first case I sized but all after that were fine. Operator error. Shoots well, some of it has gone into three reloadings and primer pockets still tight, not really trying to overload it if I wanted a magnum cartridge I would have bought a magnum cartridge. Very enjoyable. Thanks for helping me get this rifle operational.

Very nice brass, loads well if you are careful setting up your dies neck of the brass is easy to bend. You have to put the dies in a little high and go down a little at a time to get your dies set. I crimped the end of one brass and lost it. But after I got every thing set the next 199 loaded without a single problem. I would order again. Another thing I loaded one cartridge and ran it through my rifle and it would not feed it was too long for my 1894 made in 1910. So I had to trim them down to the length of a factory loaded brass.
2.125 Brass for 38-55

Was a bit worried about "thin necks" in the Starline 38-55. This thinner brass is meant to allow for larger diameter bullets. After seeing the brass I can say it looks clean, sturdy and is undamaged. I'm less worried about the gauge of the brass now that I've handled it - and having had good luck with Starline 45-70 I can say I'm happy with the 38-55.

I wish to take this time to thank Starline for the best brass available and to Graf & Sons for offering the 38-55, 2.125 long brass. As long as I have been reloading ( some 47 years ) I prefer the use of Starline brass, it is a well formed and well sized brass. Owning a 38-55 Marlin 336 CB, I tried using 38-55, 2.080 long brass, thinking I had gotten the best I could, I then tried the 2.125 long brass it made a big difference, now I know, I have gotten all I can get out of my Marlin 336 CB in 38-55 Job well done, Starline and Graf & Sons.

Ordered the longer brass for my new Cimarron 1894 Rifle thinking if I had to trim it I could. My gun took the longer brass without any problems. I am very pleased with the Star-Line products and will continue to buy them.

Very good quality brass at an affordable price. I use it to form 32-40 cases and it works perfectly. The extra length is just right as the other 38-55 cases are too short.
The Best Brass For Handloading

If you're going to load nre brass, make it Starline. I've used it for several calibers, rifle and hand gun, straight and bottle neck. It is the best quality of any I've used and holds up for several reloads.

Many thanks to Starline for offering current production 38 55 Win. brass in the original SAAMI spec length of 2.125" and the current specification of 2.08". My Uberti High Wall in 38 55 will take the longer brass but my new Winchester 1894 (Miroku manufacture) requires the shorter, current specification brass. Furthermore, the groove diameter of the Hi Wall is 0.3795 " and the 94 Winchester slugs to 0.3773". Bottom line: slug your bore and measure your chamber! Starline and Graf's has you covered for your brass needs for this fun cartridge.
