Product Information

Nosler® Ballistic Tip® Varmint bullets thrive on ultra-high velocity loads, yet will go the distance with spectacular results all the way down to the lowest practical velocity levels. Fast or slow, near or far, no matter what rifle/cartridge combination you’re shooting or what varmint you’re shooting at, Nosler Ballistic Tip® delivers match-grade accuracy with all the performance characteristics serious varmint hunters are looking for.  Nosler’s Ballistic Tip nestled in the jacket mouth is the streamlined polymer tip, color-coded by caliber.  The ultra-thin jacket mouth assures violent expansion at either end of the velocity scale.  The varmint jacket wall design is  uniform with gradual thickening at the bullet’s mid-section designed to keep the Ballistic Tip® Varmint together until impact-at any velocity. The ballistically engineered solid base and boat tail configuration combines with the streamlined polymer tip for extreme long-range performance and for easier loading.

This is not loaded ammunition.

The Best

By Alan M. on Jan 30, 2019
I have shot these for years out of many of my 26" custom AR-15's. When reloading they are followed up with xx.x gr. of WC-846 powder. Believe it or not I will get just over 4000 fps (on a hot day) and 2" groups at 325 yards. I love to coyote hunt and I look at the kill zone to be around 6". With this load and a 325yd zero my extremes are 3.1" high at 225 yards and 3.2" low at 375 yards. So anything that comes in between 0 and 375 yards is dead meat with no necessary adjustments. I bet only 1 out of 30 coyotes have gotten up after being hit with one of these 40 gr BT and needed a 2nd round to put him down. The others 1 shot 1 kill. You can't find a better terminal performance bullet for coyotes as well as prairie dogs. The only drawback of these little hot rods is that they don't buck a crosswind very well. Sometimes they're a little tough to figure out how much drift to allow when there is a breeze or good gusts and your shooting at 300 plus yards. Still one excellent bullet. NOTE: The load mentioned works well in my rifle but has not been tested and not recommended for someone else to use without substantial load reduction first and working up after checking pressure signs.
