HORNADY 22c (.224) 40gr V-MAX BULLET 100/BX
The polymer tip of the V-Max bullet is the key to its dramatic accuracy and devastating expansion, even in long range, low-velocity situations. The tip raises the ballistic coefficient for improved velocity and flight stability, and on impact initiates bullet expansion. The copper jacket is designed to work with the tip to deliver incredible accuracy at long range, and it assists the V-Max’s dramatic expansion. The copper jacket provides the necessary bearing surface for maximum in-flight stability. The jacket is built to withstand the faster twist rates of many of today’s advanced varmint rifles. It all means the bullet will hold together until impact.
This is not loaded ammunition.

I load these in a CZ 527 223 at reduced velocity, about 2700 fps, for a relatively quiet but effective groundhog load. Even at reduced velocity the results on groundhogs are devastating. First load I tried shot right at 1" at 100 yards. A variety of powders and velocity from 2500 to 2900 fps all produced groups of an inch or less.

I ordered four boxes of these to use in an XP-100 .221 Fireball pistol. 1st, Graf & Sons sent all four boxes in one same-lot :) attached together group, in an over-sized box with OCD-extra packaging. SO nice to get same-lot bullets NOT further tumbled en route vis delivery!
The bullets themselves are both good-looking and well functioning. I am a "nut" re minimizing concentricity run-out, and the bullet bases seem to be 'just right' to keep this at a minimum. (I use Redding Deluxe dies, with a Forster Ultra-seater). Bottom line? I'd surely buy these (from Graf & Sons) again!!! geo
