Overall, I think Hornady went beyond the call to design a product that strong and accommodates most shotguns, it's an enormous project to take on. Many consumers simply want a product to keep small fingers from a weapon, and for that purpose it's wonderful. However, home defense is another matter. The shotgun has to be stored UNLOADED with the bolt back, regardless of whether it's a pump or semi auto, and loading either type requires multiple steps. I just don't want to do that in the middle of the night with an intruder in my house.
